Nutrition Services
Nutritional Counseling - This is where we sit down and I give you my opinion of what healthy eating really is. I then get a feel for what you consider healthy eating, your treats of choice and your past experiences trying to eat healthy. We find a middle ground that we can agree on and begin meal planning.
Meal Planning - Once we've come to an agreement on the types of foods we are trying to get you to eat every day you will need a plan. It may be a flexible plan, you may not be able to carry it out exactly as planned, but we need a plan every day.
Grocery Shopping - This is the first of many services we can either teach you, do for you or some combination of the two.
Food Storage & Safely - If you are going to have fresh healthy food around you will need to know how to keep it safe to eat. This is also something we can either teach you or do for you as part of our "managing your kitchen" service.
Food Preparation - This is different than cooking. Food preparation can be anything from making a sandwich for lunch the next day to simply cutting an apple in half and putting some peanut butter on a cracker. You can essentially keep healthy foods ready to go in your refrigerator or we can do it for you.
Cooking - Everyone is at a different skill level when it comes to cooking. Some people simply have no interest in it and others thoroughly enjoy cooking. We can help you enhance your skill and cook more healthfully or do it for you.
Restaurant Eating - This could be anything from fast food to fine dining. There are several strategies to manage this challenging part of your daily diet.
Social Eating - It's going to happen. Social eating is a big part of human interaction. We can't do this one for you but we can help you understand how to enjoy it and move on.
